Challenges to Effective Management

The greatest challenge to effective management in my view is good and efficient data management. Data management refers to the process of collection of data, its analysis, processing and interpretation. The entire data management process requires different employees within the organization to provide their input from all that they collect and then bring this to be analyzed and interpreted for effective use. The process of data collection on its own is extremely challenging, to begin with, depending on the manner in which data is collected there can be several issues such as language barrier, collection of inaccurate information, loss of important data among several others.

Next, during the process of data analysis there can be conflicting analysis of the collected data. This then leads to misinterpretation of very important information which then skews the results. This interferes with the process of the entire organization and can easily lead to the fall of an organization. Also, the control of which employee to handle which kind of sensitive data can be tasking on its own. Not all employees have the right to access the entire organization’s data. This therefore poses a problem whereby the managers cannot decide who to give access to a specific type of data.

Thirdly, there can be loss of the collected data. This always brings about the greatest challenge within the organization’s structure. Data can be lost in several ways such as natural disasters, invasion of the computer system by malwares such as Trojan horses, worms and viruses, theft of the hardware containing the data among several other factors. In conclusion, all these pose a great challenge in the process of effective data management within an organization and should be avoided at all costs by the managers at all the levels of the organization.

This challenge can be addressed in several ways. To begin with, ensuring correct data collection processes. This can be achieved by ensuring there is no language barrier during the collection of the data. All data collected can then be recorded in form of audios and videos which can then be uploaded to prevent loss of the data should any occurrence happen to lead to the loss of very important information. Next, only a selected group of employees may be given full access to very crucial information belonging to the organization. This will prevent data loss and data access by unauthorized employees.

Next, data should be analyzed by specific listed procedures uniform to all employees of the company. This will ensure uniformity and prevent collection of aberrant data. This in turn ensures that all data is collected and analyzed in the same manner. Finally, to prevent data loss, all key information about the company or organization should be uploaded onto an online drive to prevent the loss of key data. Also, to prevent loss through Trojan horses, malware and viruses, all computers should have anti-viruses installed and up to date to enable this to protect the computer system.

In conclusion, the challenges facing effective organization management can only be addressed by providing accurate solutions to these problems. The solutions provided above are key to effective data management in any organization and should therefore be applied.
