E-commerce is the marketing, buying, and the selling of products or services over the internet (Barlow, 2011). To integrate e-commerce into International Plastics a newly created e-commerce department will be responsible for responsible for developing an e-commerce presence map, a timeline and utilize search engine optimization services. A functional requirement for developing an e-commerce business model is to deploy varies software for network functions and implement a security standard.
Integrating E-Commerce into International Plastics
To start integrating e-commerce into International Plastics the company needs to create an e-commerce department. The e-commerce department will be responsible for responsible for developing an e-commerce presence map, a timeline and utilize search engine optimization services to begin the integration process. Web sites, e-mail, social media, and offline media are four different ways for International Plastics to implement the company’s e-commerce presence (Laudon, 2016). Web sites, e-mail, social media, and offline media platforms are broken down into various ways of deployment . Multiple E-commerce platforms are; computers, smartphones, tablets, purchased and internal list, Facebook, Twitter, television, and radio. Activities that can be conducted on e-commerce platforms are search options, marketing display, newsletters, sharing of information, education, and company exposure (Laudon, 2016).
To measure goals and milestones the next step of e-commerce integration is to build a timeline consisting of six phases. The following are the six steps; planning, website development, web implementation, social media implementation, and a mobile plan (Laudon, 2016). During the stages, the following must occur; create a mission statement, develop a website design to become a functional internet site, identify appropriate social platforms for a social media presence, and develop a mobile computing plan (Laudon, 2016).
Utilize search engine optimization (SEO) services as a method to integrate e-commerce into International Plastics. SEO is the process of making improvements on and off a company’s website to gain more in search engine results (Booth, n.d.). More exposure will lead to more consumers finding the company. SEO services is a setup of multiple techniques and procedures for the intention to increase the visibility of a company’s website by optimizing it for a search engine (Booth, n.d.). SEO falls into the area of marketing, internet strategy, and website development . White hat SEO and black hat SEO are two methods of optimization . White hat is based on content creations and follows webmaster guidelines. Unlike white hat SEO techniques, black hat SEO services will ignore guidelines for better exposure.
A technical requirement for developing an e-commerce business to business (B2B) business model is to deploy the technology. B2B electronic commerce involves the sales of goods and services among businesses (Laudon, 2016). International Plastics must implement web servers with suitable software, and server software that specializes in managing website development, website success, and transactions processing (Barlow, 2011). A variety of additional technology to utilize is e-commerce software, enterprise software, and electronic payment systems (Barlow, 2011). To support an e-commerce network, network functions, need to be put into operation. Intranets, extranets, and the internet can all enable and support B2B transactions (Turban, 2011).
Executing security protocols using encryption for the International Plastics e-commerce website is a must to protect consumer’s information. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a standard method of security for electronic commerce websites. As information is communicated over the internet, an encryption procedure occurs to safeguard the data. International Plastics must register in advance and pay a fee for an SSL certificate to valid that the website is secure and can be trusted (Booth, n.d.).
Justification for International Plastics Integration into E-Commerce
The benefits of e-commerce are SEO and B2B methods to utilize. The advantage of SEO is being able to obtain a vast marketing reach that will increase profitability due to a having broader market base (Booth, n.d.) B2B enables the company to form electronic relationships between distributors, suppliers, and consumers. If International Plastics use the B2B business method, the company can reconstruct the ERP system to integrate it into the e-commerce platform. (Turban, 2011).

Even though International Plastics must register in advance and pay a fee for an SSL certificate, integrating e-commerce into International Plastics is a benefit to the company because the e-commerce department will utilize SEO services for more exposure that will lead to more consumers finding the company.
