Lack of confidentiality may prevent many young people from seeking advice from the counselors as well as creation of crisis. This is because the victim may feel that his or her information has been leaked to other people which need much privatization. If the counselor keeps high level of confidentiality with Pete’s information, crisis may fail to arise. Guidance and counseling team has got high level of confidentiality and security of personal information. As for the Pete’s case, the counselor should ensure that good guidance and counseling is given to the child and should be kept private. The security and confidentiality will curb any source of crisis which may arise. This will even give courage to many to bring his friends who might be victims too (Friedman & Utada, 2009).

Manny’s report to the guidance and counseling manager needs much confidentiality and security because Pete’s parents do not care about his condition. The counselor should keep the top security and privatization of the Manny’s report about his friend. In order for Pete to be able to continuously attend the counseling and treatment sessions, the counselor should keep high levels of confidentiality. The counselor should increase the referrals of the Pete in order to ensure that he is already out of the scenario before being fully addicted. The school counselor should advise the child the ways in which he can get out of the drug addiction and give clear examples of the drug abuse victims. After guiding and counseling the individual, the counselor should ensure that the information is well secured (Friedman & Utada, 2009).

In conclusion, the school counselor should inform all the students on the guidance and counseling process. The school counselor should also increase the self-awareness programs within the school so that the students may understand their personal values, their altitudes and beliefs. It is also of great importance for the counselor to understand the different cultural background of each individual in order o be able to tackle the cases brought by the learners.
