Describe nursing-sensitive measurements and why they are important in Nursing care delivery. 

Nursing sensitive measure compromise nurse sensitive indicators which are:

1. Structural indicators- which include how nursing staffs are supplied. Help to ensure that units are properly staffed, no understaffing of nurses which may results into burnouts, job dissatisfaction among nurses and thus reduced quality of patient care. Also it include the skill level of nursing staffs to ensure adequate well trained nursing professions able to manage the complex health needs of patients. This help in promoting the quality of nursing care.

2. Process indicators which include- patient assessment processes and nursing interventions and nurse job satisfaction. Proper nursing assessment are important in ensure effective nursing care delivery. Appropriate nursing interventions help in promoting patient safety and hence ensure patient satisfaction.

3. Outcome indicators- patient outcome is determined by the quality of nursing care. It is assessed by the rate at which patients recovers, how complications, readmissions, mortality are prevented and patient satisfaction with the nurse care.

Promotes evidence based practice in nursing care delivery.
