From my google search I selected Teaching Children with Attention Deficit

Hyperactivity Disorder. And from the library I chose Effects of Teaching Art Activities by Using the Playing Method to Develop Skills in Preschool Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Both of the articles I chose are credible and knowledgeable in the field of teaching children with Adhd.

Within the handbook “Teaching Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.”

I learned how to detect Adhd, and how to help children with Adhd succeed within the classroom.

I chose my granddaughter however; this handbook will help me research all children that might be in any classroom or preschool. “A child’s academic success is often dependent on his or her ability to attend to tasks and teacher and classroom expectations with minimal distraction. Such skill enables a student to acquire necessary information, complete assignments, and participate in classroom activities and discussions (Forness & Kavale, 2001).

From the Ashford University library I found an academic journal Effects of Teaching Art Activities by Using the Playing Method to Develop Skills in Preschool Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It was a study on 14 preschool children with Adhd, and they was rated by the Adhd rating scale. Children who engage in art activities will develop their mental skills, so they can adapt their critical thinking skills and behavior. I chose this article because I am a firm believer that children will learn though play in which they will develop their social skills and thinking skills. “The importance of arts activities and the Playing method in preschool and early childhood education has been established and there is evidence that such educational approaches will help to develop the main abilities and skills of children in preparation for the subsequent educational years.” (Abdul Hadi & Al Saheb, 2002; Ali, 2007; Ali & Abdul Khaliq, 2005).

I learned that I have to choose keywords when I decided to look for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. When completing my research I will have to use keywords to find exactly what I will be looking for, and not just what the web or the library has to offer. I learned to use literature review as a guide to help me with my searches. When I chose an article I will make sure to use edu., org, or gov., these will help me decide which are scholar resources and not to use blogs. I will use my research to help me with the final paper that I will need to create. However; this is just some of the research that I will be doing since my degree program is technology I will want to find some articles that will incorporate technology into learning to help children with Adhd.
