Hello My Friend,

I cannot believe that this day has finally come, I am beginning the journey towards receiving my Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) degree. Today I started my first class, and I am excited to begin working on my first assignment. It seems as if it was just yesterday that I decided to work towards my associates degree. As of right now I am confident that I will be able to keep up with the work flow and continue to keep a high-grade point average.

The Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration will help to prepare me for an administrative position, by teaching me the fundamental knowledge and skills that is required to be successful. Students will have a strong understanding of how the healthcare information systems work, regulations, guidelines, HIPPA, and how to properly communication with a healthcare professional.

All the courses for the BSHA are designed to teach you the information that is essential to the healthcare industry. The BSHA will also help improve your ability to work individually as well as collaborate with co-workers, this is a great tool for the work place. There will be times that you must complete a complicated task on your own, or with fellow co-workers. Both tasks can be difficult at times. The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration allows you to meet the requirements for an administrative position in a medical office in our area.

To meet the requirements to be in an administrative position in our area is to have a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration. Without having a BSHA, you will need at least five years of on the job experience as an administrative assistant or an administrator. I have several friends that have been working in the medical field who started out working the front desk and later became an administrator. It took them over five years to get to an administrative position. For them to be able to apply for a different administrative position, it would take close to ten years. The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration is a four-year degree which meets the requirements for an administrative position, but you may still need some experience. I have considered several medical facilities that will allow me to do an internship. They also mentioned that the internship could turn into an administrative assistant position when I am close to graduation. Like I mentioned I am excited for this journey to receiving my BSHA. If you are interested in this program, I highly recommend getting in contact with the University of Phoenix.

Hope to see you soon,

Jennifer Brock
