Every year Fortune 500 companies issue reports that cover everything from stock prospects to corporate culture. These reports are very thorough and include a variety of different methods of breaking down the information. The three main report types are analytical, proposals, and informational with each type of report used for a specific purpose. The report being analyzed in this paper is the 2016 Chevron Corporate Responsibility Report. This report is used to inform stockholders, ordinary citizens, and company employees about the different things the company is doing worldwide to improve both the corporate image and the lives of those both in the company and in the regions the company is stationed. This report is an informational report that is specifically designed to inform the reader and layout the information in a readable, understandable, and usable manner.

Corporate responsibility

Chevron is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world and with that title comes and enormous amount of scrutiny and pressure on the company to show a good public face. A large part of this process is by showing the company to have a responsible corporate identity. This report was put together with the use of a variety of source materials and years of data being crunched and analyzed to show the current situation and the changes over the years. The report does a great job of proving the company to be responsible but leaves out any information that would contradict that idea which leaves you wondering what the other side of the story really might show.
