For a healthcare to run effectively and provide the best services to patients, there are regulations which involves rules and policies which must be adhered to. Healthcare accreditation is a basic requirement to ensure good and safe provision of services.

Healthcare regulation plays a very important role in patient safety and also outlines what should and what should not be done by the medical professionals. Regulations stipulate clear laws and policies which must be fully observed or else a consequence follows for failure to observe it. It ensures that the performance of the healthcare is effective and meets the needs of patients. These regulations ensure that medic professionals adhere and follow some rules while under operation and treatment of patients. The things they are supposed to do while treating patients or what they should do before performing a certain surgical operation is a form of regulation. This regulation process will give better services and maintain good patient-physician relationship.

Accreditation ensures that minimum standards are attained by the healthcare organization and failure to do so will definitely lead to closure of it. Accrediting bodies monitors the programs and procedures used by the healthcare and decide whether it has been successful or not in providing patient services (Levett, & Burney, 2014). This enables the healthcare to try its best in providing safety practices and services to patients.

It states what is expected of them and whether it has been attained in the past years to examine its successes.

It also helps to recognize the best healthcare providers so that the public can know where to get the best services. It also set standards that have to be achieved by healthcare organizations hence by so doing, the healthcare will automatically challenge its workforce to provide the best services and also get advanced facilities in their healthcare.
