“Diversity” Please respond to the following:

From the e-Activity, propose three ways that an organization can increase diversity within itself. Take a position on whether diversity is or is not important and determine how the methods you provided support your position.

The three ways that an organization can increase diversity within itself is Communication, Training and Education. I find that diversity is what it takes to succeed in today business environment. Many companies teach in training how to be diverse, with many employees taking this course in order to learn about diversity and to educate themselves about the different cultures that they have to deal with from day to day. Communication is the main key to diversity in my opinion, because each employee within a company/organization is always talking to one another and by talking we are learning about how each person learns, talks, thinks and lives, we are also learning about each other’s cultures just by communicating to the other.

Evaluate ways that an organization can measure and reward compliance. Determine if organizations that measure and reward compliance are more or less likely to experience lawsuits.   

At the organization/company that I currently work for, they measure and reward compliance in many ways. Right now we are being rewarded by completing a certain number of files a week, by being placed into a drawing for a trip to New York to attend the Heisman dinner. But with this contest being in place, we are monitored and measured at a higher rate than when we were working at our regular production rate.

Our company always has lawsuits filed against them, but  most are not successful. When the company rewards its employees for going above and beyond, the company is less likely to have lawsuits and to have a happy customer because the issue or problem will be evaluated faster and can be done quicker because the employee will get to it sooner than later.
