As an Executive Director, Problem Solving is one of the leadership skills that successful business professionals and entrepreneurs are expected to have, yet many struggle with the simplest of decisions.

This concept goes against what many business leaders believe – that it’s what and who you know that makes you successful. In fact, how you understand and solve problems that is the key to success.

·         Reduce unnecessary business costs.

The primary goal is to identify and understand issues in order to recognize solutions and implement improvements to stay aligned with customer needs and expectations. This is crucial in the healthcare field in making sure that our patients, caregivers, and referral sources are happy.

In the medical field we always try to figure out ways to make our Patients, Caregivers, Clients and Referrals Sources happy by trying to improve product and services so we provide surveys and try to gather as much information as possible to get feedback from our caregivers so that we can know in which areas we need to improve.

Provide a rationale as to why the three (3) aforementioned concepts or skills are important to someone in the field of business statistics.

Leaders can find themselves backed into a corner when persuading people to move in a direction or take a risk based on unsubstantiated opinions. Statistics can provide objective goals with stand-alone figures as well as hard evidence to substantiate positions or provide a level of certainty in the directions to take the company. Statistics provide managers with more confidence in dealing with uncertainty in spite of the flood of available data, enabling managers to more quickly make smarter decisions and provide more stable leadership to staff relying on them.

All Concepts mentioned are important to someone in the business statistics field and it has certainly been helpful to me since taking this class and has allowed me to look at things differently by way of problem solving and getting down to the Root cause of a situation to come up with the best solution possible for the good of the organization.
