SWOT Analysis for “Whataburger Restaurants, LLC

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Whataburger Restaurants, LLC is a fast food, quick-service restaurant chain that operates in Texas and a few other states in the American South and Southwest. It is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. The company is a family-owned and operated company with a small number of the stores being owned and operated by franchisees. The menu consists of hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, fries, shakes, some breakfast items, and kid’s meals. The locations offer a dining room and a drive-thru and are open all day and night (Whataburger Restaurants LP SWOT Analysis, 2017).

STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
Diverse menu: allows for customers to customize almost everything about their food from the vegetables to the sauces. OPPORTUNITIES THREATS
Increased consumer spending: People have more money in their pockets to spend and can spend it with Whataburger who advertises heavily on television and social media.Strategic Initiatives: The company has partnered with another Texas favorite grocery chain, HEB, to sell condiments and certain food items. They have also introduced a mobile application that allows for online ordering (in certain places), and a rewards program for frequent diners.(Whataburger Restaurants LP SWOT Analysis, 2017)Competition: The fast food industry is highly competitive for the customers. There are many options from national chains, as well as newly expanding regional chains. There is stiff competition from McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, and In-and-Out Burger.
