Community-based health promotion programs have different stakeholders. Stakeholders include community members and various professionals such as community health nurses from different organizations and institutes. A stakeholder is a “person or persons both involved and directly affected by plans, actions, and outcomes. Person with a vested interest or personal stake in the outcome” . The community health nurse’s role in partnership with community stakeholders is to encourage and empower health promotion projects in the community . The goal of the community health nurse in partnerships with community stakeholders is to “measure, intervene, and improve health disparities among groups, as well as the distribution of health” . It is important to appraise community resources as part of a community assessment to determine what assets the community has and/or needs to successfully improve and promote community health.
