For California, Karen Bass seems to the powerful African American woman who stands out in the politic and stands for many positive things including health care for Californian, for Untied State, for the global health and the well beings. Karen Bass won the fifth term election for the thirty-seven Congressional District in November 2018. She used to be a physician Assistant and served as a clinical instructor at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. Then, she worked her way to be a politician. Bass as a congress member, she serves on the on-House Committee on Foreign Affairs that focus on subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Right and International Organization. She is also working on criminal justice reforms and protects intellectual property right infringements that threaten the economic health of the 37th District. Moreover, her leadership focuses on two issues, a reforming America’s foster care system and strengthening the United States’ relationship with Africa (Biography, 2018).

The current specific bills sponsored and or supported by Bass that will influenced health care the H.R.6505 that working to negotiate the prescription prices for Medicare part D patients, H. R4998 that Health Insurance for Former Foster Youth Act to amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to ensure health insurance coverage continuity for former foster youth (H.R.4998 – 115th Congress (2017-2018). These two bills are in progress to be reviewed and passed. Prescriptions pricing can be out raising for most of Americans who rely on medication to survive. Some of them are sicker because of poor budget for medication at home. Similarly, with the youth, the bill wants to allow the parent to continue cover the health care insurance until 26 of age. I think that this is a fair call, so the youth can continue focusing education rather than on the full-time job to keep the insurance. Karen Bass sponsored so many bills that will be beneficial for human being in and out of United States.
