SC121 unit 1 Discussion

Why is learning the regions of the body with their proper terminology important?

To understand and be able to communicate medical terminology is very important in the medical field. It is how one another communicate during the work shift. It helps make sure there is no confusion or mix ups while talking or writing up notes. For me, it has not come easy, but I am in the begging on my college courses, so I am sure that over time and more practice, that it will become easier.

How is the understanding of directional terminology important to those in the healthcare field? This is just as important as medical terminology itself. Knowing the plane terms and where they are located in the body and their ‘job’ is, is important because the doctor could write that up in the medical notes or just communicating with you, and you need to understand what is being said.

The body is structurally organized into levels – choose one level and briefly describe it.

The body has six levels of structural organization, and the one I chose to write about was the organ level. Organs are made of tissues that create a structure within the body. They have their own shapes and functions.

Which system of the body are you most looking forward to learning and why?

The system that I am looking forward to learning more about, would be the digestive system. I had my gallbladder taken out back in 2013 and my body has not been the same since then, so I am curious to learn all about their functions and importance’s.
