Graphing Different Data Types
I was able to calculate the mean, sample variance and the sample deviation using the Heart rate worksheet provided for the assignment. I was able to further breakdown each quantitative variable into: male resting, female resting, male after exercise and female after exercise. It was interesting to see that the mean heart rates between men and women were not that far off. However, the sample variance and sample deviation give a better picture of the range of heart rates.
Male Resting | Male after Exercise | Female Resting | Female after Exercise | |
Mean | 80.4 | 90.3 | 81.8 | 91.2 |
Sample Variance | 49.7 | 61.2 | 39.3 | 34.95 |
Sample Deviation | 7.1 | 7.8 | 6.3 | 5.9 |
