Questions

Determine which statistical technique you will employ to measure the quality characteristics of your organizations . Provide examples to support the rationale. Analyze the current facility location, and then use the three-step procedure to determine a new location.Analyze the key concepts related to capacity planning and facility location for the new location.

Questions

Examine the current work system design, and determine your organization’s selected feasibility in the job design (i.e., technical, economic, behavioral). Assess key elements of the rationale in the work design competitive advantage. Using the method analysis described in the textbook, defend the new change implementation process and the rationale for the change of method. Develop a diagram showing network planning techniques, in which you use the program evaluation and review technique (PERT) and the critical path method (CPM).

technique to measure quality characteristics in an organization

Descriptive statistics is a statistical technique that I will use to measure the quality characteristics of this organization. It is the best for this organization since it employs the use of standard deviation, mean, range and measuring distributed data. Descriptive statistics are coefficients that when added up they bring a total of all the allocated set of data (Jacobs, Chase & Lummus, 2014).

Continuation

MeanIt is the average of several numbers that is calculated by finding the central value among the several numbers.Standard deviation It responsible for measuring how values are well distributed. It is determined by finding the square root of variance.

current facility location

Adidas company is at the right location where they get raw materials for their final products at an affordable price. The area also has an educated community who are very resourceful at being employees in the company. They have skilled employees who are motivated to work for the adidas company. They also have a wide range of customers who most of them are global.

Three step procedure

One of the procedures to making location decisions is to identify dominant location factors. These are locations that are popular in the sneaker industry and have potential in making adidas become more popular and bigger than it is.According to (Jacobs, Chase & Lummus, 2014), developing location alternatives is another process. If adidas fails to do better then it will have to look for a location that does better. Also if adidas does better then it will consider having more branches in other areas.

Three step procedure

The third step on making location decision is to evaluate locations alternatives. When evaluating location alternatives, there are some procedures to consider. One of them is factor rating method which involves factoring out important issues in the organization. The other procedures include load distance model where it involves studying two sites and comparing their results. The Centre of gravity approach is a procedure that identifies the Centre of gravity of the location being considered.Break even analysis is another procedure that calculates the number of goods yo be purchased over their costs.

key concepts related to capacity planning and facility location for the new location.

One of the key concepts is the proximity to customers. This is where an organization considers a location where they have many customers or are likely to to have many potential clients. For instance if an organization is based in an area that is far from its customers then there are higher chances of them losing their customers to other organizations or companies because of that. Hence there will be a need for relocating to another location.Proximity to labor and is another key concept where an organization considers the rates on the local wages. It also considers the special skills that are present in the employees and also the relationship and response towards unions in an organization. If the current location of the organization does not have many skilled people or educated people then they will likely move to a new location which has educated and skilled people.

Continuation

Proximity to suppliers is a key concept where an organization chooses to reduce on the cost the suppliers use on transportation of the products or materials to their customers. When the suppliers use a lot of money on transportation, they will most likely hike the prices of the products or materials of the organization thus losing customers for those certain products. This is done mostly for purposes of getting many people customers.

current work system design

The current work system design consists of job design which is responsible for determining the routines of specific work of individual employees. It also consists of process analysis which is responsible for emphasizing on the particular ways of carrying out a certain work.Work measurements however is responsible for determining the time it is required to conduct or carry out a job (Wilson & Sharples, 2015).

Technical feasibility

Technical feasibility is when a job can be done both physically such that one can be in a position to do it using the required tools and system and mentally where a person cannot do things that go beyond their personal skill set or mental endurance. When the employees in Adidas are provided with the best training and have the right equipments, there is a guarantee on technical feasibility. Technical feasibility is also ensured when the decisions made concerning the organization.

Economic feasibility

In economic feasibility, the cost used to do a certain job should not be higher. In the competitive environment, organizations must still be able to be outstanding and perform well. Thus for adidas, the cost they use in their production should be lower than their selling price. Despite their competitors striving hard to do better, they have managed to maintain their sales. This pressure has enabled the organization to maintain their price level.Economic feasibility is essential in an organization for it to survive.

Behavioral feasibility

The characteristics of most jobs have a way of affecting the job holders’ understanding of themselves, their understanding on others and the relation they have built with others.when a person has expectations from a certain job, they are motivated to do their best. Generally, every job requires a motivation and mind set so that it can be performed well. However, job titles allow interactions with certain group of people that belong to a certain social class. The organization is usually effective when team work and work group a large role. Most of the motivation on workers usually come from peers either through peer pressure or relations.

Competitive advantage

Adidas has a competitive advantage over it’s other competitors because of their partnership initiative. They decided to partner up with some of the industries in China to produce more products. Thus increasing their market value and customer base.Adidas has also been able to employ current technology to advance their products. They have been able to use the technology to create better products compared to their competitors . This has thus led to the production of better and quality products (Wilson & Sharples, 2015).

defend the new change implementation process and the rationale for the change of method.

Adidas has partnered up with reebok company. This partnership was made so that adidas could be taken seriously by athletes and have the opportunity to wear reebok. This was also a marketing strategy to curb for competition.Adidas has been able to implement the use of Enterprise Resource planning System to monitor on their sales. This has been an Information technology upgrade. The software used in the company also have been upgraded for efficiency and accuracy in the sales results as well as being up to speed with the current evolving technology (Seymour & Hussein, 2014).
