Agile Organizations

An agile organization is also known as entrepreneurial or the resilient organization. It is an organization that reacts and responds to changes in the market place or a particular field. In a fast way or quickly. This means that such organizations do not take time to adapt to any changes but rather easily adapts to changes. An agile organization emerges successful in introduction of any competitors, rapid advancements in technology and sudden shifts in overall market conditions. It focuses on the customer which calls for customized rather than standardized offerings. Such organizations thrive in non-hierarchical structures without a single point of control. Agile organization is associated with a number of characteristics which are discussed below.

Agile organizations use big data and analytics to improve the performance of the organization. There is a huge data that is created every day in every organization, this data just piles up with nowhere to be placed, however with the use of analytics to provide rich market and operational insights to improve the performance of the organization. For instance, airline data company PASSUR Aerospace introduced the use publicly available data such as weather, flight schedules together with proprietary data feeds from a network of passive radar stations to aid in gathering information on every plane in the sky. This has provided the organization with accurate information to U.S which has eliminated the gaps that existed previously (Goffee & Scase, 2015).

Also, agile organizations use software as the medium between themselves and their customers, employees and partners. This means that there is a proliferation of the software interface as the pillar for growth. This provides an easy and simple way to serve the clients without necessary having to interact with them physically. It is also convenient to the customers since there are minimal movements which might at times be tiresome. Take for instance the introduction of uber as a means of transport which has gone viral among many societies today, there are no vehicles but they provide the best of services to their clients through a certain software. Also, the Airbnb which is the world’s largest accommodation provider does not have any real estate but through the use of a certain software it has managed to reach to its customers and clients and provide the best of services to them.

In addition, agile organizations use a software as a critical component of their business strategy and product offerings. This means that these organizations use software and their physical products to enhance their products and their operations. For example the social media sites which are used to market their products and also communicate to their clients easily without going through a number of formalities. This is well represented by the online shops which operate through the sites only to sell their products to their clients.

Moreover, agile organizations treat their products as software. Software products are introduced to the market with an assumption that they are imperfect and that they will improve over time. However, the paradigm of releasing imperfect products to the market with an aim of improving them later became a challenge to conceive for any product apart from software. This aspect is most common in the vehicle industry whereby on release of a new car, there is always a perception that the model will be later upgraded over time. This improvements are made in terms of the features and functionality and this improvements keeps on improving in any release or launching of a new product in the market.

Lastly, agile organizations prepare their business ecosystems to act quickly. The leaders arm their business ecosystems such as the suppliers and customers with distinct resources information and tools which aid them in making decisions and quickly measure the results and make amendments where possible. Providing such information to their clients will help them to easily adapt to the product that is being launched into the market. This way, they turn out to be more successful even in the emergence of competitors
