Many theories have tried to define and explain the meaning of Industrialization. Industrialization is the period of time in which there is a gradual change of social and economic state of a group of people in the form agrarian society to industrial state. Change has impacted a lot effects to lives of individual which include the immigrants and the working class. The industrial reform has taken place in towns and many people have migrated from rural areas to towns. This is simply because they are in search of job opportunities in towns where they think there is better place to live. Industrialization has positive and negative impacts to the community and population at large. For instance, many job opportunities are being open up daily because of industrialization (David Swanson, 2016).
Naomi Tepper (2014) argues that industrialization is promoting and also lifting the poor conditions of people. Many nations are becoming independent nations whereby the united states remain to be the major exporting nation. The reformation is revealing more potential mass transportation and availability of influential economic state (Francis, 2010). This creates an advantage to the nation’s resources which have been dormant are being used due to the revolution which has taken place. On the side of transportation, many sites have been linked together and many opportunities opened for investors. Many cities have also been linked leading to international trade. The economic change has united many countries and creating ties between many nations.
Additionally, the natural resources are being exploited for the benefit of the country and much development is being witnessed. Many countries have developed in extent of reaching high levels due to the power of industrialization. The power of industrialization is building strong unity and peace among the trading nations leading to developments. Where there is peace and unity, there is development and much is done. This is what is being witnessed from the uniting and trading countries. Industrialization has also promoted love, unity and peace internationally working hard for the nations to cater for the demands of the growing population. The economic growth of the trading nations has been pushed forward to higher percentages by the industrialization (Naomi Tepper, 2014).
Industrialization is serving as the platform for growth and development of many nations and continents. This is witnessed from the great reforms and interventions American states are establishing including the spinning of mill. Due to the job creation, sharing of responsibilities at home has become the agenda whereby every person is becoming the breadwinner in the family which has reduced burden to the man. There is much innovation on the side of technology whereby advancement are being done day in day out. The internet is being used worldwide making communication faster and efficient. Advanced technology has also led to new manufacturing methods which are faster than being done manually. Much revolution has been done through the advancement in technology which has gone hand in hand with the industrialization. Discoveries like petroleum extraction have been done through the advanced technology which has impacted positively in the trading nations (David Swanson, 2016).
On the other hand, despite many benefits brought about by industrialization, there are also various challenges whereby the health of the people is deteriorating due to the health hazards brought about by industrialization. The waste materials from the factories and the released waste products to the environment bring negative effects which endangers human species and other species. The long working hours causes effects to the human health through the breathing air or coming into contact with the chemicals in the industries. The rate of pollution being done into our environment is leading to many new diseases. In addition, the growing population has led to overcrowding of towns whereby this has also raised crimes in the market. Limited resources in towns like social amenities have caused many chronic diseases to the population (David Swanson, 2016).
Naomi Tepper (2014) argues that there is evidence that the lifestyle of the people has greatly changed whereby people’s molarity and the mode of dressing is totally different. The culture is now being termed as traditional way and not a single person needs to be associated with the culture. Many people have reaped industrialization changing their beliefs and becoming civilized. Overcrowding in towns has led to formation of slum houses and poor waste disposal affecting the productivity of the environment. The land has been left bare and unfertile due to the so called industrialization. The atmospheric air has been affected by the untreated gases released to the atmosphere by industries. This has caused formation of acidic rains which has also deprived land fertility and productivity. The fast spreading diseases have affected the life expectancy of the population leading to early deaths. Due to the poor working conditions life expectancy has been affected and reduced from 70 years to 45 years. This has also impacted on the working class people whereby the dependency ratio is very high (Naomi Tepper, 2014).
In conclusion, despite the negative effects of industrialization it has opened many opportunities whereby many people have ventured into capital creation contributing to new standards of living. Before industrialization electricity was like a dream but as industrialization shown its roots it became a domestic business. Through the use of electricity there has been creation of many power generating plants. Different companies have emerged leading to creation of job opportunities for many jobless people. Socialization has also been the order of the day leading to interracial marriages reducing racism not only in business sectors but also educational institutions (Oya Ozagac, 2004).
