Discussion 1

John C. Maxwell said, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

The saying above simply means that people want to see results from anything that you do. They care less about your qualifications as they are results driven. The case study shows that Mrs. Ashland is working and caring for the kids the way they are expected. The parents are even congratulating her for the work she is doing like the parent that is always at work and drops her child very early in the morning and picks him later in the evening when others have already left.

Creating a good relationship between the families and the teachers is very important for the child’s growth and development. This is because the teacher is in a position to know exactly what is going on at home and thus is in a position to advise accordingly. When Kayla came in crying and her mother said she was tired as she went to bed late and hurriedly left, Mrs. Ashland was on her knees trying to comfort the child emotionally. When Kayla’s mother left, she was tasked with the responsibility of caring for the child. Academic development is demonstrated by Mrs. Ashland when she left Johnny to look at books as he awaits his parents to come pick hm. Johnny looking at books was in a way preparing him to being used to books thus academics in the long run . When Mr. Jones was irritated and vocal, she asked him to meet her later after classes. This demonstrates behavioral development. Mrs. Ashland has really shown how “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
