Managing Change in Organizations

Week #1

Discussion 1

“Managing Change in Organizations”

Determine why change is so difficult for organizations. Propose ways that human resource (HR) specialists can assist in making change easier.

Change is difficult for any employee, but for the employees that have seniority of more than 20 years +, at the organization/company, they are the ones that will be more reluctant to change than the one that has been there less than 20 years, these are the one that will fuss about the changes that are being made but will just work with it because it’s something that they have to do to get their job done.

Human Resources specialist can make any changes within a company easier either coordinating with the training department to have training classes, either in-person or online, for employees to take to learn or to explain the new process that is being implemented or to set up informational booths to where the employees can ask managers, Human Resources or supervisors, about the new process or product that is being implemented.

Propose two ways that HR can prepare its employees for the changes involved with moving from a domestic assignment to an overseas assignment.

When a company decides to move from a domestic assignment to an overseas assignment, many meetings have taken place to make this change a smooth as possible. During this change many employees can and will be involved, the Human Resources department can set up training class for the employees, the ones that the change will impact, letting each employee know what the change will impact with their workload, what system will be impacted and what they will or will not have to do. Secondly Human resources can set up meeting with each employee involved to find out if they have any questions or concerns about the changes that are being put in place.
