According to the article “Legal and ethical questions in the global digital space” people have to actively participate in discussion about digitalization and global networks since it have impressive “impact on life and business than globalization in international trade”. Jouko Ahvenainen talking about very important subject who and how should rule global digital world. The article brings an example about event that happened in June 2016 when hackers stole digital currency Ether tokens and Ethereum community was able to resolve the issue and return stolen tokens that were $50 million worth. There was no other involvement to help this type of operation, since Ether tokens are digital money that are not regulated by any government and government does not have ability to help in this situation (Ahvenainen, 2016). However, somehow this money should be protected and author is asking reasonable question can people who are in charge of this electronic tokens to find and execute hackers themselves? In this case government was not able to help owners of Ethereum tokens. However, government wants to know everything and to be able to access everywhere, but big companies such as Apple and Facebook concern about safety their users and want to protect their clients from hackers and from government intrusion as well. Usually, nobody worries about anything till something serious happened. Now, more and more humans are tight to a digital world where their personal information exposed to the public. And there are more and more cases are happening that personal information was compromised. People are loosing their money, having issues with their payments for bills since bank is holding their money and trying to investigate the whole situation.

The main concern and question of Jouko’s article is to bring attention to all who is involve in digital life and not only people who is related to cyber security and find out should government control all people, all businesses and everybody around on digital level to make sure that people are protected from terrorists. The best way to do so is to have an access to each single profile that is registered online.

There could be a political issue related to this type of control. What people each government will control? Will US control only citizens or all people who registered in the US? What if person decides leave the country will he or she still is under US control or should anther government take that person under their “support”? Also how countries that are way behind digitally will control people? Who will be taking care of them?

The topic is raising lots of other questions. For example, who exactly will decide that people’s information should be or should not exposed to the government from web communities such as Apple, Facebook, and Instagram? Also it is interesting to know, will be there such regulations that will be comparable to the constitution of US where rules are set and further changes will be not so easy to make? One more question, how people can be involved in this process to understand the problem and to make a decision regarding their future digital life?
