Democratic and Republican parties are two main and strong political parties in the United States. The parties however have significant differences when it comes to views especially about social issues. The republicans tend to be conservative when it comes to such issues for instance they oppose gay marriage and abortion.

From the Republicans preamble, they tend to focus on the greatness of America and Americans. Their views revolve around exceptionalism of America. They believe America as a country is exceptional because of its deep history that dates several decades back and the role it plays in the world. They believe in the Constitution, viewing it as an enduring covenant and not a flexible document. Additionally, they hold the belief that economic and political freedom is indivisible. Lastly they hold the belief that the Democrats who were the ruling government forgot their promises to the American people and treated the military and all the veteran fighters as a necessary inconvenience and also doubling the state debt.

The Democrats on the other hand view themselves as a party of inclusion that embraces diversity and seeks a common ground on issues that are likely to cause divisions. They are also proud of immigrants in the country since they believe they will form the workforce that will help the country advance economically in the future. The democrats also support civil liberties and human rights for different groups in the country from women to LGBT community and people with disability. The party is therefore not conservative with its ideas as depicted by their actions such as the support for the gay marriage and LGBT community as a whole in the United States.

Both parties intensively cover health reforms, education and protection of American values in their websites. Democrats believe in the protection of American values such as embracing diversity in the country. However republicans are concerned about cleansing the population and get rid of immigrants from the country. Their actions though well intended spurs division more than unity. Additionally, the parties have divergent views on health reforms. Republicans want a total overhaul of the Obama care while democrats support the care plan and want it retained. However they are issues both parties are in agreement on, they both want to make debt free college a reality and make education affordable in the country.

Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is an immigration interest group that seeks to educate Americans on immigration laws and also systematically reduce the number of immigrants from one million to three hundred thousand in a year. The vision of the FAIR seems to be in line with Democrats approach of dealing with the problem of immigration. However, it differs from the approach taken by the republicans who want to remove all illegal immigrants from the country within the shortest time possible. FAIR acknowledges that the number of immigrants has increased to unattainable limits but proposes a systematic way of dealing with the problem that will not hurt the economy and divide the country.

In conclusion, the ideological differences between the supporters of the parties play a crucial role in shaping the political sphere of America. It ensures citizens with varied opinion about contentious issues in the society have a party to support whose policies are in line with their beliefs.
