Positioning Statement

A positioning statement is a brief statement about a brand or a company, what it stands for, what it does and what makes it unique and relevant to the stipulated audience. It is used as a marketing strategy to guide and focus market efforts in an effort to obtain more clients and build a good reputation. The positioning statement for the restaurant can therefore be as follows: The Family Diner is a restaurant located right off the common interstate. We open at 11:00 am and close at 7:00 pm CST seven days a week except major holidays. We have daily specials for both lunch and dinner of a wide variety. Its best known for its delicious homemade pie menu and coffee. Come and experience a mouthwatering delight that will leave you asking for more.

The new plan was mainly obtained from feedback from both the employees and the customers as well. The plan will therefore incorporate several changes, both mild and drastic, all geared towards the benefit of the company at large. To begin with, rebranding will surely take place, this will look at the designation of a new logo and a facial uplift of the restaurant. This will entail a change of furniture, appearance of the facility and the creation of a smoking zone to mention a few. Next, under the new terms, everyone that is served at the restaurant will have to pay for the services they obtain, including relatives of the employees. Also, no employee should be seen smoking during their work hours and this will amount to a dismissal or an alternative corrective measure.

Under the second section of the new marketing plan is the employment of new staff. A few new recently graduated students will be employed to assist the presently available staff. The existent chef will be assisted as previously done up to the point which the restaurant will have made enough benefits to hire a new chef. This will be the first step following attainment of any profits. The available chef will also be required to make several other homemade pies in anticipation of the larger number of clientele to be received. Next, all the employees will be required to address the clients with respect and decency required. This is to enable to customers feel appreciated and well regarded by the restaurant at large.

The third plan is to bring one computer to be stationed at the restaurant to facilitate both the advertisements to be done and any online services. Since an online platform is already present, ours shall be to ensure that the services actually work. Once orders are made online, they can either be picked at the store or they can be delivered. However, delivery will start in a few months following the application of these changes. This is to enable us to purchase a bicycle for the restaurant that can be used by the employees to deliver orders made online. Next is to increase the total number of advertisements made. Several flyers will be printed and distributed around town to facilitate this. Also, since everyone is nowadays techno savvy, several other kinds of advertisements can also be done online through photos, videos and documents with images.

The next plan is to change the opening time to approximately 9.00 am to enable breakfast serving as well. This will increase a few things within the menu and will most likely draw in several other customers due to the strategic location of the restaurant. Also, the chef shall be requested to increase the varieties of homemade pies to almost twenty so as to cover for different cravings of several individuals. The menu will also have to be thus updated to cater for different needs of the many customers. Since the restaurant serves a huge variety of individuals, the menu should be created in such a way that all age groups with their likes are well represented.

The final plan is the inception of loyalty programs or special promotions. This will act as an advertisement strategy and together with the online services, will go a long way to help us obtain maximum profits. It will also encourage more customers to dine with us which is our main aim in the long run. This will also help in the maintaining of the restaurant as a family legacy as desired.
