Protecting the Environment Training in Environmental Law in Indonesia

Protecting the Environment: Training in Environmental Law in Indonesia

Introduction

With regards to protection of the environment within the nation of Indonesia, the major difference between global education and multicultural education have to be outlined. Multicultural educationĀ happens to be materials and strategies in a set for the purpose of education which are developed for assisting the teachers on ground to respond towards many challenges and even issues arising from the demographics which are rapidly changing within the learnerā€™s population (Development Law Update, 2006). On the other hand, Global education always aim at helping or even picking up such learners and being able to give them the much needed boost that puts them on a footing that is indeed even despite them having a background which is deemed as unprivileged (Development Law Update, 2006). In that regard, this essay seeks to highlight how the protection of the environment within Indonesia can be achieved through environmental law training for the general public and even the various law enforcement agencies by the government officials.

Differences between Multicultural Education and Global Education

Multicultural education is always being viewed in a manner that it is used for teaching, promotion of various principles like inclusion, bringing about diversity, the essence of democracy, together with helping the learners in skills acquisition. It also helps the learners in making inquiry, carrying out critical thinking, having perspectives of value, and also depicting self-reflection, in that regard, for the general environment they are being taught about.Ā It encourages the learners to be able to bring their cultural aspects to the environment, thus, allowing in support of their intellectual growth towards the environment (Development Law Update, 2006). On the other hand, Global education may be founded upon international affairs, (leaning towards the environment for that matter), as its name gives the suggestion henceforth. It always aims at making learners to have concepts for running through what they are trying to know more about, such as the environment, and become more curious towards it. The certain intricacies that govern it may be associated to this learning. Global education often aims at allowing those being taught about the environment to be able to think about actions they can be able to take while living within the environment and how their lives may be able to impact upon it on scales that are imaginable (Development Law Update, 2006).

Multicultural education also happens to be very effective while promoting the achievements that are indeed educational for the learners. The transformation within this context may be able to help in engaging the variables which governs the policies about the environment, the general attitudes, the various instructional materials, the methods of assessment for the environment as a whole. This kind of education happens to be concerned about contribution by the parties involved, such as the learners for a social action that is effective (Development Law Update, 2006).

Global education is normally concerned with the general environment of a place, especially about the climatic changes or even the essence of global warming. It also involves bringing over a spotlight to the general consumption of resources on the globe with the various effects that accompany it within this world (Development Law Update, 2006).

Salient Manner for Attendees to Address Unique Environmental Challenges

There are various salient ways in which the environmental law together with the enforcement workshop can prepare the attendees so that they are now able to address the myriad of unique challenges that the Indonesian context might pose with regards to the general environment at hand. The agencies mandated with the protection of the environment should be able promote the general public awareness for the attendees towards the issues which govern the environment and be able to show them how the legal framework does operate for that matter. It they could also be able to carry out the mechanisms for the legal enforcement which are very essential in prevention of the environment while preventing any damage that could be afflicted towards it. The mechanisms that should also be taught to the attendees also involve those which can be applied for prosecution under the environmental law or the punishment given when violations of the same is realized for that matter. The training can also be able to discourage any of the ā€˜traditionalā€™ practices that have proved to be detrimental towards their environment, such as using explosives to fish thereby destroying the habitats of fish and the reef and that of ā€˜burning and slashingā€™ practices for farming (Development Law Update, 2006).

The training could also try and raise the general awareness for a healthy environment while they can be able to understand the legal standing (or even the context for the actions taken) which may be able to contribute in a significant manner towards a reduction for the degradation of this environment within Indonesia. The training can also be able to teach these attendees how to become more realistic in their ranks while considering the alternatives they do have for the environment, for which their livelihood has is increasingly depending upon as they continue to exploit the natural resources from Indonesia. They should be made to even understand that over exploitation of the same resources often ends up damaging the environment in overall (Development Law Update, 2006).

Instructional Interventions for Reducing Future Environmental Degradation in Indonesia

There are various instructional interventions that can be hypothesized for reducing future environmental degradation within the nation of Indonesia under the development of various agencies such as environmental organizations that are non-Government (commonly called ENGOs) or even a governmental organization for that matter. Environmental awareness in terms of the issues within the nation of Indonesia can also be raised by enforcement of the general environmental law through application of the overall instructional interventions for that matter.

There should also be an improvement of legal frameworks which exist for protection of the environment at large while making several reforms for our environment. Some of the instructional interventions have to be enacted by the various environmental bodies within the nation such as the Management Act, which happens to be Indonesiaā€™s environmental body for legislation, together with the general Management Act Environmental (EMA). There should be an improvement in the effectiveness of this agencies for looking at the way issues that govern their environment are being addressed, not forgetting the major weaknesses that they do have (Development Law Update, 2006).

This improvements are based on trying to widen the provisions which do encourage the civil enforcement of the environmental law whenever there is a breach to the general environment. The improvement may also encompass the essence of trying to recognize the various tools for administrative enforcement of environmental law at full range. By aiming at the future to reduce the general environmental degradation within Indonesia, the government officials have to continuously try to prosecute any breaches that are glaring at them within the same environmental law. The future environment should also be protected from this degradation by trying to impose newer requirements when one is obtaining the license for exploiting any resources within the environment from the authorities that are indeed relevant to the activities they want to carry out, so that there is less degradation to the environment in form of pollution or even damage and over exploitation of the resources (Development Law Update, 2006).

Government officials being able to educate local citizens or even the lawmakers for preventing future environmental damages

The government officials can be able to educate local citizens or even the lawmakers for preventing future environmental damages by showing them how to improve on their part for enforcement of the environmental law in general. They should be able to strengthen this environmental law by showing the citizens about good governance towards a sustainable future for the environment, where they can be able to carry out development that is good for their own environment. They should also be made to understand the policy frameworks geared towards the environment for good governance of the environment. There should also be judicial training being carried out by the government officials in Indonesia to operate within the specialized law courts for the general environment. The various cases of the environment can now be heard in these administrative courts or even any appeal taken to Supreme Court (Development Law Update, 2006).

The strategies to be used in improving any enforcement for the given environmental law are such as encouraging the compliance to this environmental law or having criminals towards the environment facing the law enforcement them. There should also be an improvement to the institutional capacity within Indonesia so as to manage or even enforce this environmental law, under the legal or regulatory framework, while carrying out the much needed public awareness
for their participation in the same.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the nation of Indonesia needs to explore some of the approaches that have been highlighted within this essay such as embracing the global or even multicultural education in dealing with issues to do with their own environment. By doing so, it shall be easier for them to carry out their strategies which are aimed at reducing the environmental degradation in the country, under the perspective of this education. A discovery of international resources should be done under the same perspective to prove the devotion of the nation toward protection of the environment at large. In that regard, this essay has been able to highlight how the protection of the environment within Indonesia can be achieved through environmental law training for the general public and even the various law enforcement agencies by the government officials, while outlining the strategies to use to prevent future environmental degradation.
