Welcome Meeting

There has been crisis on our billing department which has forced us to form a new committee so that we can review and implement new constitution in our department. As the leader of billing department saw that our department is not working well whereby many complains from our clients were being heard which called for immediate change. This change led to new members being chosen to lead and give excellent service to all members. The chosen team is supposed to work hand in hand with all members to make this department a better place. The selection of these members was that they have the potential and skills to change billing department to meet the required demands (Ellis, Keddara, & Rozenberg, 2005).

Every individual in the team must have good communication skills so that all barriers in communication should be eliminated. The team members should have billing and coding skills so that any change that may occur in the department to be handled without confusion and delay. There should also be insurance billing specialist who should follow the claims whenever they reach the department and able to solve these claims. In addition, some of the members will be responsible for the arrangement and handling all the payment services taking place in the department. The team members elected shown variety of skills which included their ability to multitask maintaining good organization in the department (Suchman & Wynn, 2004).

In the project, we will develop research which will be able to review and analysis the needed skills for the members. This will solve the coding problem by understanding the physician diagnosis and detect any mistake that could have occurred. For the data coding, there is a team which will be responsible for entering the key information through the use of computers (Suchman & Wynn, 2004). I as a leader I will pay much attention on all the details and documents produced in the department for the correction of mistyping and mishandling of finance. It is needed for the members to be free to each other and share any information which might be effective for the development of the department. Any communication either through emails, face-to-face or over the phone is needed for the quick handling of the payments and solving the problems (Suchman, 2003).

In organization, there may arise much conflict whereby some of these conflicts might be inevitable. Conflict can be either negative or positive conflict in which there may arise differences in ideas, potential agendas whereby they are all directed to one goal. Some of the conflicts include mishandling of the cash, some of the members favoring particular group and orders from the leader affecting some individual. In order to avoid these conflicts we should use all positive actions and words not to harm the feelings of the members (Suchman & Wynn, 2004). Each member is assigned a duty to take the responsibility and failure he or she should face the consequences. There are set rules which govern the billing team which no member should go against.

There is an improvement in technology to reduce the level of errors which might occur during the operation and be able to work efficiently. There are steps which should be followed in order to solve billing problems and should be followed systematically. The skills should be updated which relates to word processing, the documents should be printed in time, all the information entering the department should be updated because they may become outdated to avoid wrong information. I will monitor every activity that takes place in the organization to avoid poor coordination among the members. All the documents should be kept safe for further reference and all the payment should be approved (Suchman & Wynn, 2004). The members should have self- confidence and tolerance for all the challenges and situations of the working environment.

In conclusion, there should be effective communication to facilitate good relationship among the members. For effective teamwork there should be clear and open communication to all members which facilitates smooth running of the department (Suchman, 2003). Good leadership also facilitates successful teamwork whereby it is facilitated and inspired by strengths of effective leadership. The team will also be encouraged by teamwork exercises whereby the members will feel free to socialize while sharing experiences and practices with one another.
