What makes a strong manager

Good morning Professor Weber and Classmates,

“What makes a strong manager?”  Please respond to the following:

What skills and traits do you believe make a good manager? Do you think these skills and traits are learned or innate, and why? Search the internet for an article that supports your position and post the link in your thread for fellow students to read.

A manager is the person responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of individuals, monitoring their work and taking corrective action when needed. I believe that some skills and traits that a good manager should possess is having clear and open communication, being able to motivate their employees and having strong decision making skills.

A manager should be able to communicate effectively with all of their staff. A clear communication style defines good management at its roots. Communication has to be expressed so that everyone can understand what is being communicated. Motivational skills are a great tool for a manager to have. Managers with this quality is able to match the motivations and strengths with the tasks of the employees. A good manager should be able to make strong decisions that would benefit the department as a whole.

Good management skills are learned from experience. I think that a manager have to go through obstacles in order to become a good manager. They have to develop their own skills and not copy another manager skills.
