Knowledge Management Scheme at HP

HP enjoys having effectively formulated and implemented Knowledge Management model. This scheme has three proponents of people, process and innovation. This analysis therefore leads to this paper’s thesis statement as it endeavors to seek the impact of the work innovation network on its knowledge management scheme. The paper will provide two specific examples of its learning that have influenced on knowledge and work innovative networks.

HP’s Knowledge Management

The process element embraces the collaboration, engagement and is knowledge intensive as the open office structures allows employees to easily interact and share information. The innovative element is one of the most sophisticatedyethas made the HP’s Knowledge Management model as one of the best in the industry. This element has greatly reduced the enormous obstacles experienced by most of the competitors in collecting and sharing information across the firm. Information is power and therefore critical asset that every firm should endeavor to manage and disseminate properly. Each customer is unique and that where the collaborative business process endorsed by HP gains accolades from experts. This is greatly enhanced by the high tech interactive platform employed by the HP. The work innovative network as it focuses on information sharing and work efficiencies, provides the employees with tools and platform. One of the standout platform is the effective web- based tool that not only saves employees time in sorting what is necessary for analytical purpose butoffers them with a platform that allows them to track the mechanism. This platform automatically generates monthly reports determining how many requests have been launched and those that are in the process. This HP work innovation networks maintains human factor such as networking. Senior managers are able to provide instant instructions through chatting platforms in following up a customer’s order so as offer client a response with real time facts(Dudezert, 2012).

Evolution of Organization Learning

As competition intensifies, HP has relentlessly endeavored to acquire a competitive edge over it competitor. Such edge has been achieved through it hybrid learning process as it is able to accumulate new information trends long before the competitors have acquired it. This new information is shared and utilized. Two ways in which the Knowledge Management and the Work Innovation Networks initiatives have influenced its learning process is notably through networking. The human focused innovative models have allowed instant messaging internally and externally ensuring the integrity of the data is never compromised or leaked to unauthorized persons. This systems request user to login into his account and master his password and besides, the ability of the firm to produce regular reports have ensured higher integrity. Second way is through the ability to objectively reward and recognize the deserved employees. The regular reports by these networks objectively provides basis for employees assessments and evaluations. Extemporary employees can be rewarded while those performing poorly may be given additional training on aspects they lags behinds(Srikantaiah & Koeing, 2008).

Productive Learning

The HP management has continuously embraced the fact that it is important for each employee to incorporate productive learning as a way to improve their job. Collectively, the three elements of Knowledge Management system interactively have ensured this. The three elements have a linear relationship in that people represents the employees who run and manipulate the established organization processes. The process includes the reporting structure and the policies and procedures set guiding every organization activity. Technology element is the complex platform that makes the interaction between people and processes(Srikantaiah & Koeing, 2008).

It there true to not that if competitors are to be as competitive as HP, must embark to invest in effective Knowledge Management models that incorporates innovation, changing their processes and regularly train their employees on how the three elements must work together.
