Provide a brief description of the lesson/presentation and how it would be delivered: This lesson will cover how to identify safety hazards in the work environment, the appropriate PPE for those hazards, and how to properly use that PPE.
Name of the activity: Overview of Hazards and Personal Protective Equipment
Expected length of activity (Time): 30 minutes
List relevant learning objective(s): Upon completion of this training students should be able to:a. Identify safety hazards, examine job tasks and apply appropriate safety standardsb. Be able to use personal protective equipment appropriately
Provide a brief description of the activity, including how students would participate, how students would interact, how the trainer would prepare, what type of equipment is required, and the knowledge or skill gained: This activity will be part lecture and part guided discussion where the instruction covers hazards in the work place and the PPE associated with them. After that the instructor will pose lead off and follow-up questions designed to stimulate a guided discussion. All students can participate through sharing experiences within the work environment and their knowledge. The instructor will need to prepare the lesson and questions. The only equipment needed is a computer and projector.

Provide a brief description of the activity, including how students would participate, how students would interact, how the trainer would prepare, what type of equipment is required, and the knowledge or skill gained: This activity will be an interactive picture question game where a picture will pop-up and the students have to guess the hazard and list the appropriate safety precautions. All students in the class can participate. Students will be divided into teams with a rotating spokesperson for each question/answer. The trainer will have to develop the PowerPoint/game with pictures of hazards and the appropriate responses. The only equipment needed is a computer and projector. The learning will happen via peer learning where students are learning from each other.

Provide a brief description of the activity, including how students would participate, how students would interact, how the trainer would prepare, what type of equipment is required, and the knowledge or skill gained: This activity will be a hands-on portion where there will be pictures of a hazard or task pop up on the screen and the learners pick the appropriate PPE and demonstrate on to use it. Students will be divided into teams with a rotating spokesperson for each question/answer. The trainer will have to develop the PowerPoint/game with pictures of hazards, the appropriate responses, and the PPE to be used. The only equipment needed is a computer, projector, and enough PPE for learners. The learning will happen via peer learning where students are learning from each other and hands on.
