Advertising plan
One way to promote my business is to sponsor a Little League baseball team in the spring or an adult softball team. We are talks about sponsoring a bowling team in the fall too. This plan will be a donation to a popular community gathering. It will be a potential tax write-off for my
business. It gets my name out there for more business when they see how clean their uniforms are. That’s free advertising!
My plan for hiring new staff will mainly be about benefits, that is an essential factor in attracting and retaining excellent staff. Rewards and recognition will help satisfy that necessary human necessity to feel appreciated and rewarded for what a individual does. A prolific bonus and recognition program do not have to be complicated or require money to be effective. People do show up for work, but you want them to be involved and productive. People are more committed when there is a means for them to give their ideas and suggestions. Training would be a big part of my plan; being part of a learning experience is an essential motivator for my employees.
I would also conduct exit interviews on the reasons why my staff is leaving my company. I would ask my employees that have been with my business longer than five years, what makes them stay? And ask new employees what attracted them to my company, they are also invited to participate in my reward strategy by listing in their file the things they would like to be rewarded with; for example, time off, movie tickets, or public recognition. I’m going to evaluate all the departments and see who has the better/worse retention rates than others. Then I would create a retention plan for those individuals that have the most notable impact on profitability and productivity.
Once that’s done, I will communicate regularly. Open communication is what employees want from there manager. Talking with your employee often shows that you care about them. Motivation demands a strategy tailored to each of your staff’s needs. I think these things will help the company know what can inspire your employees to want to do a better job.
