Week 1 Discussion: “Start of the Project Selection Process”
My project is to manage the renovation of the lobby in the motel where I work. It consist of a check-in check-out desk, breakfast nook, waiting area, and access to pool and casino. The outlay is rectangular with a front door facing the rear door to the pool and lounging area. It consists of 2552-square-foot area, male and female baths, stairs leading to the upper level and an opening leading to the check-in desk.
The plan is to enclose the breakfast nook with tables and chairs inside the area with a door leading inside. This will give some privacy to guests eating away from guests waiting for check-in or check-out.Appliances to include microwave, juice and coffee machine, waffle maker, cereal and milk container and rack for eating supplies.The check-in check-out area will have sofas, chairs, end tables,coffee tables, and magazine racks.
The permits and blueprints will be provided by the owner. Contractor reserves the right to contract out services and is responsible for subcontracted work. Site work limited to Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. This work is expected to be completed within two months, from July 2016 through September 2016 at a cost of approximately $50,000.00.
