Discussion 1
Explain what the author means by the statement that “Every manager is an HR manager”. Do you agree? Give examples to backup your point of view.
By the author saying that every manager is a HR manager means that each and every manager must have the qualities of a human resource manager in them so that they can effectively administer their work as required. This is true because HR managers normally deal with the welfare of their employees and having this in engrained in each and every manager is the best way to go. Each and every manager should in fact be trained as a human resource manager. I fully agree with the author considering all the points of views above.
Take a situation where the finance manager wants to see to it that everybody in the company that is being in the company works the stipulated hours and gets their pay commensurate with the amount of time that each and every one of them works. Without taking the human resource manager aspect into consideration, they might not equally get to a conclusive conclusion. The affairs and situations affecting each and every one of them might not get everyone at par and equal, some might have sought leave of absence from work thus worked less hours even if the rest might have not. Human resource aspect manager aspect is required to balance this. The finance manager will need to apply this to get everyone on track.
