Essential of Evidence Based Practice in Nursing

Health is a very essential to every individual as it determines the quality of life and productivity level. Nurses play a crucial role in enhancing health, caring and managing the various ailments of the respective patients. Research is currently underway to realize the best practices and improve the service delivery. Amongst the most recent development includes the evidence-based research, a common phenomenon concerning the practice of a BSN-prepared RN. The evidence-based practice is not doubt an essential component of the practice of a BSN-prepared RN due to the following reason. The evidence-based practice is essential as acts to win the patient’s loyalty in that they enable evolving research on ways to support the patients which is transformed into care and management of the same (Burns & Grove, 2010). Besides, the research in the process of providing evidence to support their new evolving supportive ways the researchers can incorporate them into care. This results in improved service delivery due to the continuous research undertaken as the results of research are incorporated into real practice.

Also, the following considerations are useful as they entail ways of integrating evidence into practice and encouraging it within working environment: in the process of gathering the evidence engage in real support and care for the patients. Since the researcher (a BSN-prepared RN) offer practical assistance in the process of collecting evidence for the research underway (DiCenso et al. 2014). Also, through engaging the researchers into real technical practice in the process of collecting evidence. As this ensures that they gain skills in the process of studying as they get involved in the actual state of affairs in a working environment. The primary challenge likely to arise includes winning the patient loyalty in that the patients never like the feeling that they are used to do researcher or conducting research on them (Melnyk & Fineout, 2011). However, to minimize the impact, the study should be done in a much natural way to avoid triggering negative patient reactions. Besides, consider involving the patients to make them aware that the program is meant to benefit them hence their response, recommendations and comments useful in improving the quality of care and support.
