Collaborative skills are very crucial in ensuring the smooth running of an organization, in a healthcare each and every member will know what is expected from him or her and as such there is minimal time wastage and good relations amongst co-workers is also maintained, customers confidence is also increased.

The elements that are involved in the assessment of collaborative skills include; clear definition of roles of partners, open communication, respect and recognition of all associates, identification of blockades and addressing the challenges faced in a cooperative manner, placement of group goals and member agreement. All the above mentioned skills enable healthcare practitioners, in this case co-workers to interchange effectively with other colleagues. And in order for it to prove successful it requires a spirit of cooperativeness and mutual regards for one another.

Some few kills that can be put in place in order to ensure cohesiveness at work include: listening to team concerns that is, if you are in a leadership position, identification of challenges, forgiving others when they underperform and drawing an agreement around goals and processes, assessing the strength’s and weakness of co-workers before handing over tasks. Handing over responsibilities with open discussions also helps since as they brainstorm new ideas are generated and solutions to problems that the organization faces are addressed.

Communication is essential for the advancement of cooperation’s it is more of driving engine which helps in the administration, organization, control and inspiration of workers, helps foster good relations amongst people working together, the morale and competence of the workers is also improved, misunderstanding is also usually minimized and as such potential conflict is minimized since situations are resolved in a very courteous way. From the email effective communication is seen, Gail is clear in terms of relay of information giving room for any additional information that the other members have on the subject matter incase this was ignored conflict could have arose making decision making very difficult, the face to face on the other hand, each and every member portrays a different kind of character for example Melissa is shy, her ideas may times be ignored since she might not be willing to share it.

Active listening revolves around; full concentration, understanding of the content delivered, giving clear responses to what is being discussed and remembering what is being said, from the scenario active listening would have had proved effective for members such as Larry who is in a rush to make decisions, if he pays attention more then he might in the long run come up with very constructive and meaningful ideas.
