As a chief operating officer of a hospital, you have been tasked with opening a new ambulatory care center in your city.

Hospitals are always looking for ways to improve quality and operational efficiency and cut costs for years, using a variety of strategies. However, there are many problems in delivering quality health care such as medical errors or under /over or misuse of medical services. This is where policy and law basics comes into play.
The manager can improve quality by taking measures to reduce medical errors, reducing readmission and implementing ways to prevent errors. There are programs that address care practices to reduce readmission and implement good quality health care that has shown improvement on health care that improved the patient’s outcome. Readmission can result in high annual cost. One reason why they tend to readmit a patient after primary care might be due to a misunderstanding or poor care given during the first visit or a lack of service. Reducing readmission can reduce the cost to the patient and hospital which can result in less errors with admission and help improve patient outcome. Educating patients on their conditions and follow up appointments and calls might help reduce readmission.
The healthcare organization has experienced a decrease in the quality of patient care over the past few months. The Chief Executive Officer has requested an internal analysis based on an increased number of patient complaints. The quality of patient care provided by healthcare organizations and providers is the cornerstone of any successful healthcare organizations. It is important that the people’s needs are met, and their complaints are heard. Based on information gathered a major issue is a time it takes to receive care. Timeliness coming from a high-quality healthcare system is extremely important for the emotional and physical wellbeing of a patient. To implement safety, there are several things that can be done. Per the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, it is good to start with building “better teams and rapid response systems.” To do this one must start with effectively training staff to communicate on one accord. Promoting communication that is effective as well as the skills that require teamwork are imperative in the implementation process.

Three quality initiatives implemented within the organization geared towards increasing the quality of care for patients are safety, patient-centeredness, and timeliness: According to Teitelbaum and Wilensky safety is imperative because patients should never be endangered or made to feel unsafe when the intended care being received is set in place to help them. Patient-centeredness calls for a system to be sensitive regarding the needs specifically geared to each patient. This new system will make sure that there is an appropriate way to access patient information that will help aid physicians in diagnosing and treating patients improving the quality of care. Another initiative is a training program that will assist and employees on recognizing the importance of new programs implemented.
Employees would have to complete a series of courses and analyze the events that have happened in the past and come up with ways to prevent them from happening again. There is a growing demand for patient safety and Health care organizations must be prepared to handle any given situation. Lastly, there should be provisions designed that inspiring quality care to be delivered. Identifying effective ways to approach the patient illnesses as well as providing rewards for hard work is unimportant initiative. The social contract it requires a comprehension of the reason for human services for people and society. It incorporates stipulating impediments for individual rights and state obligations. The social contract has several advantages and disadvantages as well.
Medical facilities are a very valuable they are a necessary part of our community to assist residents in maintaining a healthy life span. Hospitals and other outpatient clinics are equipped with the tools needed to perform preventive care assessments and provide treatment for existing diseases. The primary functions of these heath care enterprises are to help residents of the community to treat threats to their health or things that may be damaging to their health. In addition, medical facilities are there to keep the public informed on how to prevent or manage potential health risks.
