Introduction

Employee motivation is the wheel that steers organization towards productivity and employee satisfaction. Organization that is not concerned about the welfare of workers experiences low production and less profit (Whitmore, 2017).

The article will focus on impacts of related to demotivated workers, working conditions of employees and emerging trends in human resource management.

To promote better working environment employers should focus on making the working conditions of workers better and pleasant to work in. jobs ought to be motivating in nature starting from circumstances and fair payment for tasks accomplished. Currently, most of the employees are not happy in their current job as they work for long hours translating to mental instability and health problems. These have contributed to workers not able to realize full potential as they are involved in complex activities coupled with employee shortage. Some have opted to leave the job as the impacts in working environment were more severe compared to effects of unemployment. In order to motivate employees the organizations should work towards streamlining the affairs of workers and determine in manners to improve productivity for organization growth and development. Environment where there is labor shortage tends to overcome the few who are working making it difficult to increase productivity (Whitmore, 2017).

Ability to make decision should involve all employees to reduce on resistance to change whenever policies are formulated and determined. Moreover, management should ensure and assure the workers of their job security regards of job market conditions. Job insecurity is a major hindrance towards promoting workers loyalty and retention. Working in humiliating conditions contributes to high employee turnover which translates to extra expenditure to organization on recruitment and training of new workers. Major purpose of employees is to make maximum income that will enhance their ability to solve their economic and social needs in long and short term period of working. Involving of workers in decision making is a motivator to productivity as they can raise issues affecting them with a promise to find solution by management. People working in an organization where decision making is centralized they are demotivated, lack sense of ownership and withdrawing of productive capacity (Miller, 2017).

Working Conditions of Employees

Working in high demanding job greatly contributes to high employee turnover therefore, lowering production capacity. Workers have little protection to their social and economic problems with wide violation of working rights. Environment for working should be attractive and respect the rights of individuals in regard to income they earn and duration of working hours. The relationship between employers and employees is very poor due to lack of structured methods of interaction. Further, conditions for working to employees tend to be ignored making working place insecure and unattractive to job seeker. The repercussion for these is high turnover rate and dissatisfaction of their work (Miller, 2017).

The fish processing plant should focus more on needs of the worker, plan production schedule in reference to working hours, increase wages of the employees and making condition friendlier to human being. Production personnel should not be working for long hours with little income at the end of day. Moreover, conditions for storing fish should be improved so that workers are not always suffering through bad smell. By doing these retention levels of employees will be high as well attract unemployed to secure jobs in the organization. Existing workers should be involved in decision making and any complaints raised to management should not accompany any repercussion to respective worker (Noe et. al, 2013).

Emerging Trends in Human Resource Management

First organization should to human resource management approach. These involve retaining qualified employees and develop their skills through training and coaching to enhance productivity. Organizations tend to be profitable because there is low turnover rate, increased efficiency and decreased supervision. Secondly, exercising meaningful contribution of workers to affairs of organization the outcome is smooth dissemination of guidelines and instructions to employee. At this level they develop sense of ownership and respect. Thirdly, conducting of objective job evaluation with desires to address workers concern and conducting employee orientation exercise. Three approaches will drive organization to hiring competitive human resource to steer and revolutionize productivity (Whitmore, 2017). 

Conclusion

Organizations ought to focus into implementing labor laws that will be desired to eradicate problems workers are facing. Regulations ought to focus on working duration per individual and gaining sufficient wages to cater for economics issues. Poor working conditions and policies result to under production and organization making minimal profits.
