Middle school science can be challenging and difficult to learn. Therefore, Michael Bishop’s actions to create efficient instruction using technology was a position that I agree with. Science is a hands-on subject and if games and experiments is what helps students gain the knowledge needed, then I would say go for it. Since an alternate approach is needed for Bishop’s actions, I would advise him to cut back the time frame for his games and incorporate lectures. The case study said that the games lasted for a week. I believe that the time frame should be cut back because, although this a learning activity, children can lose focus of the concept.

One recommendation for improving implementation of the gaming technologies would include cutting back on the time frame of the games. The game should not be a week long because we could drain their energies. Give a lectures and assignments for part of the week; and then, play the games. For instance, when I was in school, my biology teacher would lecture to use and give out class and homework assignments. Fridays, we would do some sort of activity. This method helped us to obtain the information and then implement it in the activities.
