Discuss how health policy and initiatives are used to guide and direct your clinical practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse

Health policies are always created and implemented to guide and advance the nursing practice in order to provide the better services to patients and people seeking health services. As an Advance Nursing practitioner, these policies aid in advising my daily routine operations and actions. Initiatives will help in the advancement of the nursing profession through coming of newer health policies that are suitable to modern day and age (Butts & Rich, 2013).

Clinical practice is a unique field that normally requires strict adherence to laws, policies and procedures. This is because people’s lives are normally at stake and people always entrust their lives and well-being on these professionals. Nursing practitioners are therefore tasked with being strict in carrying out their daily operations and procedures. For an Advanced nursing practitioner, this is an opportunity to put into practice the required competence and knowledge in the field in solving challenges in clinical practice.

As an advanced Practice Nurse, I am tasked with the responsibility of teaching youngers practitioners in the field and through this, I am in a position to master the policies that have always worked and create newer ones as changes take place in the sector. Creation of health policies will require strict adherence to basic health policies that have advanced health over the past decades so they may continue with the same over the changing times and in the future (Butts & Rich, 2013). This will make it desirable for future clinical practitioners in the field to transition and advance as need be.

Generally, sticking to health policies as an advanced nursing auctioneer aids me in delivering my services efficiently and in a manner that is desirable and expected by those receiving my services.
