Introduction

Interviews are very important procedures in making a decision on who to hire. The interviewers not only look for academic qualifications and skills but also other aspects that define a person in terms of values and virtues. As a result, an interview is a summary presentation of one’s image and a depiction of future potential and image that the employers are willing to hire as a part of their team. Any act, look, or presentation expressed in an interview is a communication of a given desirable or undesirable aspect that the interviewers may detect in the process. This article is a summary of some of five best aspects that are to be included in a film that outlines five things that should be done in an interview.

During the interview, XXXXX and HHHHHH were able to express a important aspect of asking relevant questions in the interview. Interviewers must ensure that they do not waver from the relevance of the interview and its core objective. They were able to ask the interests of the interviewees in the company that they would like to work for. They also asked about the ability of the interviewees to collaborate in a workplace, their ability to cope with work pressure, and their personal opinions towards various organizational issues. The ability to ask relevant questions is important as it ensures that interviewers do not deviate from the core objective of their interviews (Thanasoulis-Cerrachio, 2012).

Another aspect that came out strongly and proved to be an important thing to do in an interview is the ability to demonstrate appropriate nonverbal messages. I noted this crucial aspect in DDDDDD and YYYYY during their interviews. Non-verbal cues are important aspects that determine whether a person is interested in the job or topic being discussed, or the attitude they have towards the questions being asked. The first thing is that XXXXX was able to greet the panel after she entered and went on to present herself as conservatively dressed, audible, and avoided interrupting the interviewers (Kador, 2018).

Interviewee DDDDD was on the other hand smartly dressed, he put his phone off, made eye contact during the interview, was polite, and always requested to be pardoned on issues that were not clear. These non-verbal cues are important as they outlines the kind of personality, discipline and attitude one has during hiring considerations. The aspect of being audible, looking professional, and other positive expressions give the interviewer the confidence of making a consideration in hiring a person (Thanasoulis-Cerrachio, 2012).

The other thing that I considered important during the interviews was the ability of CCCCCCC to ask the interviewees about their qualifications. Questions on one’s skills and qualifications demonstrate the ability to create a link between the job requirements and the available expertise the interviewee presents. This question formed the core aspect in determining the academic and skill qualifications a candidate has and match them to what the interviewers were looking for (Video Education America & Cambridge Educational (Firm), 2012). The importance of such questions is to ensure that interviewers do not hire the wrong skills for the right job.

The other student who demonstrated the things to do was interviewee GGGGGG after she expressed her leadership capabilities. The importance of an interview is to assess history and the present qualities to make a decision that concerns the future. Asking about previous leadership experience enables interviewers to determine whether they can be able to rely on certain personalities and capabilities in leadership positions that may come up during a crisis or a dilemma (Thanasoulis-Cerrachio, 2012). Interviewers should ask this since hiring the wrong leadership skills could lead to the collapse of the entire organization.

Last but not least, one’s behaviour during the start and the closing of the interview outlines who they are in terms of personality. For example, interviewee LLLLLLLLLL, started the interview by greeting the panel at the start of the interview as a show of decorum and professionalism. She then went ahead to thank them. She then went ahead to thank all of them for giving her the opportunity to present her skills (Kador, 2018). This is an important aspect as it demonstrates how one is able to deal with different situations and their ability to accord others respect and deal with job pressures positively.

In conclusion, interviews are important procedures that enable people to know their potential and self-confidence in expressing themselves. It is also a platform for others to get the opportunity to identify the personality, skill, and expertise they are looking for in a person. The interviewers and interviewees in the film were able to demonstrate five things that people should do in an interview. The “DO’s” of an interview express the ability to create a chance for interviewees to express who they are and the interviewers to outline what they are looking for.
