In order to deliver a great presentation one has to select a topic in which he or she has interest in. The topic should be either a social issue that will be important to discuss with the audience. An academic presentation tends to be more boring because it has to use some technical terms and need a serious tone during presentation.

There are various types of presentation which include; Academic, research, persuasive and social issue presentations.

Persuasive and social issue presentations allows one to select the topic of interest and prepare on it. These presentations are easy because one is not limited on the points or the topic to do presentation on, however with the academic and research one is limited to focus on a specific topic and maybe points to present.

Intended audience

It is important to know the intended audience before preparing a presentation. Addressing children is not same as addressing adults. So knowing the target audience will help you know how to prepare your presentation so that you do not address the wrong audience. There are some topics that need to be addressed to adults and other topics to teenagers.

Main points

The main points of the presentation makes the body and a platform of discussion. To make good points one need to do intensive research on the topic. The research will help you to also analyze the necessary and important points to give during the presentation. The research also allows you to expand your knowledge and understanding on the topic.
