In Will Kenton article, Best Practices, defines these practices as “a set of guidelines, ethics or ideas that represent the most efficient or prudent course of action” (1). A practice that I think is extremely important especially while in the early growth stages is making sure every employee is engaged and are rewarded. Some key reasons are engaged workers care, like rewards for good work and will continue to keep working hard.

Employees like when they are involved in important decisions at work. When you give someone a chance they will continue to work hard and providing input. Engaging your employees is extremely important and having every idea to get the company to grow. When involving everyone you get all different personalities and ideas that it could really help the company. Also, when an employee is engaged, they will continue to try and care about work. People who don’t have a say and are just bossed around all day don’t really care about their jobs or their work. Keeping everyone engaged will also help the turnover rate of hiring.

Another way to keep employees engaged in their work is giving rewards. Everyone loves to be recognized of doing a good job. Encourage workers to hit their numbers or to get something done by a deadline and have a reward for this. A fun competition will bring everyone together and will work even harder to get the reward. It will also have them to look forward to what’s next.

Having everyone one page and focusing on the same goal is key to success. Sometimes people lose focus on what is the main goal and what is truly important. Going behind partners backs and becoming greedy can really destroy a company. When everyone is working together and getting the work done the only thing that will happen is growth. Also, employees will start to talk about the business and this itself will be free promotions. An employee who hates their job will not promote the brand. So happy employees will be a successful company.
