The aim of this week was to evaluate the progress of the information system and detect any derangements that need to be addressed. Several changes are bound to take place following this week’s upgrade. This is because in this week, we were supposed to incorporate the new password system.

The initial security system mainly involved a password system. As we all are aware, these systems are easily hacked into and therefore not very full proof. Therefore we incorporated the new system which involved double encryption and had a finger lock system.

Every individual has a specific finger pattern. This is particularly unique in all individuals and therefore limits the chances of a breach of security. Finger prints of all the employees were therefore taken and incorporated into the system and their details fed in. Photos were also captured and stored in the same folder with all their information. This therefore means that from now onwards, we will be able to access information through the finger screening system.

Next, a second encrypted system was put in place. Encryption is a very important aspect in the security system of any firm. It protects the computers from potentials hackers, malware, worms, viruses and Trojan horses. Therefore this forms part of the achievements of this week.

In addition, in the previous week, one of the issues arising was the lack of computer systems expertise. Therefore, one of the aims was to start up a training on site to ensure everyone is computer literate to enable easy functioning of the system and ease at work by the employees. This has been achieved as the training was started at the beginning of this week and upto now several developments have come up on the same. Work is slowly becoming better.

One of the issues that came up this week was the poor internet connection noted during the power outages. Our internet system is mainly power enabled and any loss of power interferes with the connectivity hence data loss and several other unfortunate incidences. We therefore would like to request for a backup generator system from the administration so as to limit these occurrences.

The aim in the coming week is to bring up the website system for the company for advertisements, businesses and follow up of important supplies and deliveries. This is to make the firm better known to the public and therefore bring up our business. The next aim is increase the number of computers since more individuals are improving their literacy and skills in the computer matters and therefore in due course we will need more of the computers.
