IT Ethics and Responsible Conduct

The case involving price fixing accusation between Mr. Travis and Uber is a case that has taken around two years in court and was heavily watched with amici support on both sides. Some of the individuals involved on the case are Judge Rakoff, Mr. Meyer, Mr. Kalanick and the case was handling in the Second Circuit Court of Appeal.

The negative implication of this finding is that the request made by the plaintiff to include language in Ubers terms was denied. The positive implication of this finding is that the court confirmed the validity of the electronic registration process used by Uber and many other companies.

Some of the appropriate ethics terms that would be appropriate include autonomy which is basically respecting other persons. Secondly confidentiality should also be upheld, this enables ones information not to be disclosed. Having facts and correct values should also be a term for one to uphold. Another term of ethics is that one should be able to be just. This enables justice to be found and the caseat hand to be judged based on truth. Morality is also a term that should be included in such agreements so that it can contribute to the betterment of both the humans involved in problem solving. The final term to be applied in such agreements is Rights. Each of the individuals in question should be able to know their rights and also the other person’s right. Such terms have great magnitude to this case. First having facts and correct values is a major thing in this case because the case involves pricing issues. Justice is also important. The judge should be able to here both sides and come up with the best judgment favoring both sides equally. With all these terms each of the individuals will be able to get justice equally.
