Does Technology Help or Harm Security Efforts

With the increasing use of technology in the workplace, determine if workplace security is getting easier or more difficult for organizations to manage. Support your response with evidence or examples.

I feel the use of technology in the workplace has become easier for organizations to manage because it allows the company to handle security efficiently being that they can be in several places at one time without physically being there. Sure there are some disadvantages that can cause a headache such as hiring someone to manage it, maintenance if something happens with it and not to mention the possibilities of the technology being hacked into. Even with these minor setbacks the benefits seem to out weight the challenges as with loss prevention in retail having up to date cameras with all the bells and whistles allow for catching shop lifters quicker. The loss prevention team also has a video as proof to back up their accusations. The money being spent on maintenance or hiring people to surveillance the equipment can possibly be made back at the end of year when you factor in all the shop lifting that has been prevented.
