The purpose of the BSHA program.

The Bachelor of Science in Health Administration, BSHA, is a faculty that was initiated to incorporate the footing of the General Education and Applied Sciences with the experts. Its core and the sole purpose of its initiation was primarily to prepare graduates for the managerial positions in health care. Its curriculum addresses the elementary frame of knowledge, understanding and skills, which are identified to be of relevance to the health care services.

The main role of the program and the basic instructions that are offered majorly includes among them being the positioning and structuring of the health organizations to achieving its best performance (Slovensky& Paustian, 2005). The program also aids in the quantitative, statistical as well as the economic analysis during the decision making process. Also, communication and interpersonal skills in the management of the human resources in the health environment have been enhanced through the BHSA program.

The collection, management of information resources, analysis and the use of health and business professionals in a variety of organizational environments, is also enhanced through this program. Moreover, BSHA programs aids during the determination of health and illness and also during the understanding and assessment of the health status of populations, as well as the management of health behaviors & risks in various populations (Slovensky& Paustian, 2005).

The graduates from this program, therefore, have competent skills that are essential for the middle-level managerial positions in the health sector for they will develop among them the mastery of the following objectives. Firstly, they will incorporate the managerial and social sciences with the theoretical representations of health care organizations, comprising of all the models of managed care for a better provision of health care services across the varied wider range of care.

Secondly, they will demonstrate a clear understanding of the health status of the population, i.e. those which includes the determinants of the health and illness as well as the application of suitable models of attention provision in the management of health risks. Lastly, this program will also help the graduates in an effective management style through the integration of knowledge that deals with the management models, healthcare finance, material and human resource allocation, utilization, marketing as well as quality management (Bowman, Porter, Mostrom & Wolbach, 2010).

BSHA’s importance in the achievement of my goals.

In my own perspective, the BSHA program will help me out in boosting my career’s goals as outlined below. First, the program will aid during the application of management and leadership skills that are of relevance to the fluctuating healthcare industry and specifically my nursing field of career. Also, it will help me out during the evaluation of the quality management practices and risks which will then assist in improving the patient outcomes.

The program will also address the opportunities as well as the challenges that are facing the health service administrators. BSHA program will effectively boost my communication skills across the diversified healthcare environment. Lastly, this will help boost the analysis of healthcare research & patient outcomes and also interpret inferences into practical solutions during the policy formulation and decision-making processes.
